Chose cruise for the itinerary and ability to embark out of Berlin (Warnemunde) for scheduling purpose. Our first for one of the large ships 3500+ passengers and will go back for the smaller size on future cruises.

Regal Princess does everything on a grand scale, with feeding, housing, and entertaining everybody and they do it quite well. Getting to the ship was challenging with Princess having transport from the airport but not downtown hotels, we sourced our own transport online. Embarkation was a breeze taking all of 60 second, some 90% of the ship onloads in Copenhagen.

We chose an aft cabin on Aloha deck under the premise of larger deck space with the two suites on either corner, found this not to be the case, true for deck above and below but not Aloha deck. The D4 cabin was smaller than expected and was showing age especially the carpet. Everything worked fine and the cabin steward Ahmand was great at keeping things tidy without an assistant.

Cabin D4

The D4 cabin was smaller than expected and was showing age especially the carpet. Everything worked fine and the cabin steward Ahmand was great at keeping things tidy without an assistant. We had no problems with soot by being on the stern as others have mentioned.
