  3. Norwegian Getaway
We arrived in Copenhagen 2 days before the cruise and really enjoyed the time and sights before leaving. We were on the Escape in November 2016 and the Getaway is the sister ship so we knew what the layout was like. This was our 8th NCL cruise and I have to say if this had been our first it would probably have been our last. We enjoyed our time on the large ship the Escape but we much prefer the smaller ships. The Getaway is a beautiful ship, well appointed...we had a mini suite and the BEST bathroom we have ever had so big and spacious and a very LARGE shower which was great. However this is the first cruise I have been on where I could hear the people in the next cabin talking. Also we were on deck 10 which was right above the Waterfront so people were standing there smoking and it drifted up to our balcony which was not pleasant. We went to the Wine Lovers Musical Lunch and this was good...also to the cirque show for dinner one night and this was very good too. The problems we had is that the ship was VERY crowded .... they had a lot of activities in the atrium however no where near enough seating and I also find then it is too loud when you are trying to talk over lunch at O'Sheehan's. Also we found the staff very poor. Several times at O'Sheehan's it took over 45 minutes to get a hot dog and then when it finally came it was cold. Also in the restaurants the service was below standards, most meals came cool or cold....we got our entrée but were nearly finished by the time the side dishes arrived and again barely warm. We found the cruise disappointing ... we never went to the pool, while the weather was good a couple of days we find on the big ships the pools are far too small to accommodate the large number of people. We do have 4 more cruises booked with NCL but on the smaller ships. Again very disappointed with the service and the vibe of the ship.
