I picked this cruise for the itinerary. I loved all the ports although we could not go to Stockholm due to weather which meant two consecutive days at sea. The ship is large and noisy with too few areas for quiet relaxation especially with the cool weather and few people using the pool area. I am not sure this is the best ship for this destination. The buffet was very crowded in the mornings and it was often difficult to find a table. The service in the main dining rooms was very slow even when they were not that busy. I liked the solo cabin and had breakfast in our solo lounge on several mornings to avoid the crowds. The room steward forgot clean towels, messed up the laundry service and barely cleaned the room. the St Petersburg excursion with TJ tours was excellent and very good value for the money. It was about half the price of the ship excursion.

Studio Stateroom

Cabin T1

I was in a solo cabin which is well laid out with lots of storage. It was quiet at night and the bed was very comfy. We had a private lounge with snacks and beverages which was great.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

I spent two days on my own in Copenhagen before the cruise. It is a lovely city and very pedestrian friendly.

Rostock (Warnemunde)

the town is a five minute walk from the port. I chose not to go to Berlin. I took the train to Rostock, used the tram there and then walked around Warnemunde and visited the beach. I used Rick Steves Northern Europe Ports guide and his info is accurate and informative.

Tallinn

Beautiful city. the streets have very rough cobbles so good walking shoes are a must. easily walkable if you are somewhat fit. Again relied on Rick Steves city walk itinerary.

St. Petersburg

Used TJ tours and Did the two day full tour with the Faberge museum in the evening. Tour was well organized, guide Anna and driver Vadim were excellent, meals were good. Crowds were well managed and the value for money was great. I paid 285,00 for the whole tour which was less than half of what the ship's excursuion would have cost.

Helsinki

just took the shuttle to town and walked around a bit. the city is nice but confusing as there seems to be lots of construction. I was exhausted from the two days in St Petersburg so didn't do a lot in Helsinki.
