Baltic Cruise

Sail Date: August 2017
Destination: Baltic Sea
Embarkation: Rostock (Warnemunde)
We chose Norwegian for the itinerary and familiarity with the cruise line. Unfortunately this boat is just too big, only adding people and not amenities. It's crowded and loud and our stateroom was tiny.

The customer service desk is located in the atrium where there is always something going on that makes it too loud to even talk to the people at the desk. Very poor placement. We practically had to shout to make ourselves heard and when you're dealing with a problem this only adds to your frustration.

The entertainment is good but activities not so great. The main dining room (Tropicana) is also just too big and loud so we did not enjoy our dining experience there. Don't book that one if you can avoid it. Taste and Savour offer the same menu in a much more intimate setting. As always, Cagney's steakhouse is amazing and our Teppenyaki experience was good fun and great food.

For those embarking in Warnemunde as opposed to Copenhagen there are things they More should warn you about. 1. any pictures you have in the system will be deleted before you have a chance to look at them. No one told us they wiped it prior to Copenhagen. We thought we would take the day in port with less people on board and look through but they were gone without warning. 2. while in port in copenhagen, through passengers have very few options. breakfast closed early without warning so those of us remaining on board trying to avoid the last rush of passengers disembarking had no buffet. Also, getting back on the boat in Copenhagen for through passengers is a total hassle and not at all clear how you can avoid the masses and just get back on.

The activities for children are pretty much non-existent. My 11 year old was to be placed in an environment with children all the way down to age 3? No thank you. No activities for teens, only a game room.

We loved the ports, didn't use the ships excursions because they are for the most part unnecessary. You should book a tour for St Petersburg but better deals are available through private companies.

All in all our experience was good but the ship was slightly disappointing. It's beautiful, but just too big with too many people and not enough to do or places to escape and relax. Less

Cabin review: BD9142 Balcony Stateroom

The cabin was the smallest we've ever had on a cruise ship. Way too tight for 4 people.
