I had never been to Alaska before, and loved the idea of just unpacking once and getting to different ports. We did the Whale Watching/Wildlife Quest and Mendenhall Glacier excursion in Juneau, the While Pass Rail Train in Skagway, and the Buschart and Butterfly Gardens in Victoria BC - all excellent choices! We went up the Endicott Arm because of the dangerous ice flows at Tracy Arm, and had to stop at the point where there was too much ice to safely go further. We did get a couple 360 degree turns in though, so everyone could see all the beauty and the sun glistening off the glacier. We got to see whales from the ship a couple times that day, and there was some type of sea life playing in the water near the ship but they were too fast to identify.

My absolute favorite entertainment was the ice skating show. We went during our assigned time and also did standby for the last show. I could watch that show ten more times and never get bored! The first and last nights they had variety shows with the comedians as the main part, and they were both enjoyable. The second one was really funny. I didn't like the headliners... they seemed kind of full of themselves, and aren't really that funny.

The food was great - lots of variety at the Windjammer and main dining room. Portions in the dining room were fairly small, but you could always ask for more if needed. Usually after 3 courses I was satisfied without overdoing it. We ate at Izumi's one night, and that was an experience! I would eat there again in a heartbeat!
