My family and I traveled from NY to Texas for the August 20, 2017 Liberty of the Seas cruise. This is our first trip to Texas and we really enjoyed visiting Texas on our first time going on the Liberty of the Seas, although we have been on the Freedom of the Seas. The travel time from the airport was a hour and after leaving our bags with the porters, who I may say are very rude and are clear about wanting a tip, we were off to embark on our beautiful cruise. Embarking on the boat took a little longer for us because we did not print out our sea pass information, but overall the process took no more than 30 minutes and we were walking on the boat. Royal Caribbean has embarking on the cruise down to a science and all the staff are really friendly and quickly get you processed so you can start your vacation.
Yes the boat was crowded but we always found a seat in the windjammer, and although they have someone there handing out hand sanitizer, everyone seemed to do it on their own, so the passengers on this ship were mindful of spreading germs, I loved that! Did we have to look for tables in the Windjammer on certain days, yes but it didn't take long. Did we have to look for chairs by the pool on certain days, yes, but we always found one.
We had an ocean view room on the third floor, 3558, and it consists of two beds put together and two bunk beds that came over our beds that had ladders to climb in the bed. Yes it was tight, but we made it through for our '10 day' cruise (hurricane Harvey). The bathroom was a little tight but were on a boat and our expectations were not that high. There was a small couch and a TV in the room, also a small refrigerator. We were fine with the oceanview room, it was comfortable and clean, thanks to our room attendant Wilmer Jackson. We saved $500 by not getting a balcony.
