Although I had been on a Cuba cruise some 2 1/2 yrs ago, shortly before Obama's visit, on Celestal Chrystal, a 7 day round Cuba trip, I returned as my brother was asking to go. This time it was on NCL Sky, which is I believe the only "American" based company offering 2 days in Havana. The trip was excellent, and although Havana is not at all representative of the rest of Cuba, and is "awash" in tourists from America and many European nations, it is a fascinating trip which one needs to do "now" before the possibility of Trump's announced and planned cutbacks in American tourism to Cuba may possibly be enacted.
We began this 5 day, 4 night trip in Miami, where embarkation was easy and quick. On board my brother and I had connecting outside cabins. I usually take a balcony cabin; however as we were to spend little time in cabins, and the tariff was very high, we took outside cabins instead. The cabin was small for one person and would have been in my opinion very small for two (or even three as most cabins accommodate an extra). Bathroom was very small and shower was tight even for this 175 pd. adult male.
Food - everywhere aboard was outstanding, at least as compared with my usual line - Royal Caribbean - by a factor of two or three. NCL, Carnival, and RCI are the three so called "budget" lines, and that may be true, but it wasn't reflected in the quality of their food. This was also a "all beverages" included cruise with all beverages ("Well" brands) being included, plus wines, beers etc.
