After a rough few months I needed what is called in the industry a “Cruise Vacation.” I focused on four day trips as I wanted to avoid summer weekends which are lovely at home. Buying largely on price and avoiding Carnival there were two obvious choices – four days on RCCL or there was a trip on NCL to Cuba. Cuba seemed interesting but the required government paperwork seemed a little fuzzy- you have to certify you are somehow helping the Cuban people.

The Majesty of the Seas has a real wrap around promenade deck, which is becoming rare. We are dancers and Boleros usually has some nice Latin music. You are otherwise taking a chance to find dance music aboard. (To be fair, other solid bets for ballroom dancing are any NCL ship with a Manhattan Room and any HAL ship, as well as Cunard).

Going out of Port Canaveral you also got a sea day. We like the resort packages in Nassau- such as the British Colonial Hilton which has an exclusive beach experience a few blocks from the ships.

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F1

Small but clean, quiet and a large window. For $1000 a week one wants a balcony but for $335 this works.

Port Reviews

Nassau

The day pass at the British Colonial Hilton provides a nice lunch and exclusive beach a few blocks from the ship
