My family decided to take a cruise for the first time during 8/21-8/26 a time when we didn't put much thought into having one of the worst hurricanes to hit Houston in a 100 years be the week we were to take our vacation. On that note we were beyond disbelief when we got word that there would be a hurricane headed straight for the Houston when we awoke to begin the first day of our 5 day cruise. We went about our cruise with all the expectations that the storm would be finished by the time we got back to the Port of Galveston on Saturday, well when a hurricane comes to the state of your port all bets are off that you will return on time. I have to say we weren't thrilled as you can imagine that we may be at sea for a few more days which turned in to an additional 7 more days but we just wanted to make sure that we would be safe, so it didn't matter much and we stuck it out. First and foremost I have to give Captain Rocco Lubrano and Captain Salvatore Messina our deepest thanks for doing everything right to keep us out of harms way of the storm. Second to our cabin steward I-Mate who took great care of our cabins during the 12 day duration. Third my family and I spent a large part of our cruise in the casino and this is where we received the most of our enjoyment from the staff that took all the thoughts of any disaster that may be going on back home far from our minds. I have to say we received 5 star treatment from al everyone one that was on the casino staff Kyle, Euvey, Enola, Regina, Kasigo, YuTing, Robert, Vladen, Menzi, Ricardo (El Chapo), Lee, Yolanda. I have to say because of my circumstances with my business in Houston I don't take vacations as often as I would like but this one will be one of the ages that I will cherish and hold in my heart for the rest of my life thanks to the fine people on your staff. Thank you Carnival for all the joy you provided for my family and the memories we will hold dear to our hearts forever.
