Traveled to Bermuda on 8/18/2017 from Boston, MA on the NCL Dawn. We booked a balcony on the 10th level (Room 10088). The ship states that it was refurbished in ~2016, looking at the room one wouldn't think it was. We have been on 3 other cruise ships (Carnival, Royal Car, Princess), Royal Car being far superior room wise then all the rest. NCL was second followed by Princess and Carnival being last.
The crew was fantastic and great to be around, and always something going on fun activities to keep one entertained. Great interactive games, amazing shows and great drinks.
Dining was great with the exception of Los Lobos (may have been a off day for the restaurant). Food was uneatable the night we were there, grease overflowing from the Empenadas, the carne asada was tough as nail and so over-seasoned that it was uneatable (I think the seasoning bottle tipped over on the meat).
Decent Cabin, 2Xtwin bed together, and small couch. Small TV (and I mean small 12ich). Not a lot of room to move around in. The bathroom was tight quarters. Really small toilet room with sliding privacy door. The shower has a decent size also a sliding privacy door with the vanity between both.
The Balcony was small compared to other ships. 2 chairs (one with a bent leg). When the chair is against the door facing out to the water not a lot of space to get comfortable. Knees were against the glass railing.
Not complaining, just the truth. But again who spends time in the room outside of sleeping.
Walked around Hamilton for the day and took the ferry ($5pp)
Got our own taxi outside of the ship. Saved a ton on money (5 people $60) the cruise ship charged $69pp. Saved =$285. Best beach I've been to.
Walked around to the shops and bars. Great bars went to the frog and onion and also the bone fish.
