The sailing date was what we wanted and the ports we wanted as well as the Hubbard Glacier. The port of Vancouver was where we wanted to depart from, the price with the extra's were within our budget.
There were myself, my two sisters and our husbands on this cruise. One of my sisters and her husband have sailed with Celebrity 13 or 14 times and had only good things to say about the Cruise Line. This was my the 3rd trip to Alaska for my husband and I but the first for my sisters and brother in laws.
Although the weather wasn't exactly the best it didn't keep us from having a good time.
Our cabin was right at the front of the ship overlooking the helipad. It was everything I was hoping it would be when I booked the cruise. It was clean and well serviced. My only complaint is that I didn't know who my stateroom attendant was after the first three days. Upon embarking we had Sheldon but he said he was just filling in. We had to ask for a Do Not Disturb sign for the door and Breakfast room service menus as well as a Celebrity Bag. These certain were minor things and in no way interfered with our overall enjoyment. From the fourth day on I am sure there was a different room attendant as little things were done a bit differently but I never did see anyone other than Sheldon who I saw 2 or 3 times at most. The only reason I bring this up is because I didn't leave anything extra for attendant which I always have before - because I didn't know who it was.
We walked around the cannery. A bit disappointed that they were no different than other ports we have been to. It might say Icy Point on the outside but look on the bottom and it is made in China (or some other foreign place) I did buy an authentic totem pole made in Alaska for myself but other locally made items were too pricey for souvenirs for everyone else back home.
As I have taken excursion in Ketchikan before we just walked around for a bit and went back to the ship. It was pouring and I mean pouring rain.
