Eurodam Cruise Review by okgals
- Sail Date: August 2017
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom
We had a verandah cabin which all in all, was worth the cost although the way up was so cloudy we couldn't see land. The kids had an interior cabin which was fine for them. The food was somewhat uneven, some great, some sub par. I preferred the MDR to the Lido deck not because of the food but the Lido was so noisy and lines were long and somewhat slow. Room service was great. Staff was great. Dive in hamburger counter was very good if you like burgers; Pizza was OK. We didn't go to the extra @ dining room options. I also enjoyed the Crow's nest which was like a coffee shop area; you paid extra but it wasn't much, like $2.50 for a double shot espresso.
My son enjoyed the fitness center and my daughter the spa. The BB king club's band was very good; check them out! The classical music is also quite good.
As for excursions, we enjoyed very much whale watching in Juneau, my kids did a strenuous glacier hike (it was listed a strenuous but my son found it moderate) and dog mushing which they both liked a lot. Salmon bake we all did which was a little disappointing as they overcooked the salmon some (a very common problem!). In Sitka, kids did 4x4 safari and pedal and brew which they liked and we walked around historical Sitka which, if you have that interest, was great. I preferred being on our own to going with a big group. In Ketchikan, we did Lumberjack; this was OK; pretty short and kind of cheesy but still fun and then the crab feast; the crab was incredible; if you are a crab fan, recommend. The kids did zipline which was scary but fun for them.

JuneauIt was a nice place with plenty of time to eat but the salmon was overcooked a bit; it is all you can eat though. Many might not consider it overcooked but it loses its succulent moisture that way. I would not go again.View All 12,792 Juneau Cruise Port Reviews

Whale WatchingWhale watching; we were lucky enough to have decent weather and saw lots of humpbacks and Orcas as well. Wear windbreakers and get on deck to see best.View All 824 Whale Watching Reviews
Lumberjack ShowThis was combo lumberjack show and crab feast; you can book the show on its own but not the crab feast for some reason. The show was short, kind of cheesy but still fun. The crab feast was great if you love crab. It is more like a brunch because of time so don't eat breakfast.View All 299 Lumberjack Show Reviews
SeattleWe're from Seattle and it's great! Go on WA state ferry ride and walk around Lake Washington if you can.View All 822 Seattle Cruise Port Reviews

SitkaOnly cruise ship there so town not overwhelmed with people. If you like historical type of walks, you can just go by yourself; there is a free shuttle into town. The old cemetery, the Russian cathedral ($5), the national historical park with totems and exhibits and the bishop's house all were visited.View All 330 Sitka Cruise Port Reviews

VictoriaAbout a 15 minute narrated bus ride to gardens; Gardens are beautiful if you like naturalistic English style and tea and treats were great. Not sure why they bothered to try to narrate and drive around on the way back; it was dark by then (later August). I went with my daughter and we enjoyed it greatly. Best scones; way better than have had in Seattle!View All 12,792 Victoria Cruise Port Reviews
