The location and size of the ship where correct for my family given I have two boys ages 13 and 16. We wanted small enough to not be overwhelmed but largest enough to give them enough to do while onboard. The other issues I found was a huge problem while aboard was that I had booked speciality restaurants on line prior to traveling as was recommended by the cruise line NCL. But, upon my arrival they could not find my bookings. Nor did they have space available to make reservations once I was on board. This was most frustrating. The food on board was below par. The fish selection was inadequate to say the least. Especially given the fact that we were on an Alaskan trip I would have expected king crab, lobster, Scow cram and fish that was from that area. Not even once was it offered. The only fish that was offered was in the specialty restaurants that was extra money. This was far below what was expected. It was the only huge disappointment while aboard. I must also say that the staff had some language barriers with the passengers at the front desk and were unable to assist in getting my problems solved as well as others. such as the above reservation issues. Overall I would suggest finding another cruise line to travel on other then Norwegian in the future for the majority of the passengers. I personally felt as though this was a downer when I went to the main dining rooms or the buffets and the passengers belonged on Carnival ships and not this more expensive ship. It was like going to a water hole with a bunch of pigs. I am very sorry to report how I feel but I have to report the truth.
I loved the size of the cabin it was perfect for four individuals. The room steward was great but the ship seemed to be under staffed and he did not have enough time to pay as much attention as I had on previous cruise experiences.
