We spent five days and four nights enjoying the beauty of Alaska before boarding our cruise ship in Seward. The land portion of the cruise included three train rides, a bus ride into Denali and a motor coach to get us every where else.

We started our vacation by flying to Fairbanks where the cruise line had a motor coach waiting for us at the airport. We were delivered, along with our luggage to the Rivers Edge Resort where we quickly given our room keys and met with the tour director John. After a short walk to the local grocery where we purchased snacks, drinks and something for a light supper we called it a night.

The next morning we met Nate our driver and were escorted to an Iditarod dog kennel and to Gold Dredge #8. We enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant the was recommended by the front desk of the resort (Soapy Smith's). The atmosphere was dun and the food was good! We had time to walk around the downtown area, followed by a motor coach tour of the town and then ordered pizza to be delivered to the resort.

Cabin BC

The cabin was adequate with plenty of storage. The be was OK but the coach was so uncomfortable we never sat on it and the only other chair was a small uncomfotable option. Our steward always filled our ice and made sure we had clean towles and coffee for the pot but we rarley saw her and didn't feel like we made a connection with her. She did her job well but that was the extent of our interaction.
