A friend told me, "If you ever get a chance to take a Viking River Cruise, you should do it." I believed her. I'd seen the TV ads, received the brochures in the mail, read the website. I knew I wanted to do it. So when the opportunity presented itself, I did it. And I'm so glad.

My experience started when I called Viking and connected with an excellent Viking agent who was very patient and helpful every step of the way. She made the booking experience so very easy. Embarking and disembarking also could not have been faster or easier. Vastly better than other cruise ships I've been on. And it didn't take the whole week to learn my way around the ship. It is just the right size. I would like to see a little bigger cabin. It was very attractive but only one chair for 2 people and if one person was sitting at the end of the bed, the other person was kind of trapped without interrupting them. That is truly the only negative thing I have about the entire trip and it's such a small thing. It certainly will not keep me from doing another Viking River Cruise.

The dining experience was amazing. Exquisitely prepared food at every meal made dining one of the highlights of every day. We chose to eat with new people every night and got to meet some incredibly delightful and interesting people from all over the world. Read more
