This was our 1st cruise on Celebrity since 1996. We have been loyal RCCL cruisers but after our experience on the Summit, we will be switching. Our experience was much better than we had on the Quantum, Anthem or Oasis. It could just be we are better suited for smaller ships where there are no hassles of making reservation for dinner and entertainment.

Great service starting from the embarkation area all the way through the cruise. The ship is in great shape considering it's age. I read that the cabins were not so good but with the exception of the couch, it was spotless and the carpet looked new. Everything worked and we did not have to call for any maintenance.

I can not say enough about the food quality and choices. We ate in the Luminae most nights and ate at Tuscan and Qsine the other nights and every single meal was great.

Cabin Review

Celebrity Suite

Cabin CS

The cabin was large with more than enough storage. We found the bedroom to be a bit small but manageable. The living area and balcony were very roomy. The only thing about the cabin that showed it's age was the couch. It seemed to sag in the middle. The carpet, wood and marble were all in great shape and there was no signs of mildew or wear and tear. We didn't use the butler very much but when we needed him he was right there. My DW did not like the fact that the balcony door did not lock, I asked the butler the 1st night how to lock it and he said it did not have a lock on it. He must have heard our disappointment because a lock was installed the next morning.
