Chose NCL because of pricing and extras including dining and drink packages. Friendly staff and passengers. Great vibe on ship. Ship was clean and easy to get around once you're oriented. Cabin was clean and comfortable but seriously in need of a refresh. Dining was OK going from terrible service and food in Tsar's to very good food and better service in Cagney's and Le Bistro. We generally found the wait staff in the restaurants to be too pushy and impatient, like they wanted you to be ready to order within moments of sitting down. We learned to push back. Staff and bartenders in the lounges were friendly and very good at mixing cocktails. Enjoyed the Magician and the Acrobats in the theater and the bands in the Spinnaker Lounge. Only took one excursion, Misty Fjords, and it was wonderful with incredible scenery. Wife spent 2 half days in the spa and loved it. We found the ports have become over commercialized since our last visit several years ago. Too many tacky jewelry stores. Might cruise NCL again if the circumstances are right.
Steward refreshed cabin but didn't see him much. Got his contact info on day 5. Cabin was comfortable enough but seriously in need of a refresh. The sofa/bed was very worn, uncomfortable and seriously in need of replacement. One of the deep drawers was falling apart. The bathroom/shower was good sized but the wall between the toilet and sink was a pain in the butt! The nightly towel animals were cute.
Over commercialized port area with too many tacky jewelry stores.
Fun town to walk around with more local shops etc. to visit.
Always beautiful Victoria. Visit the BC museum and the Empress.
