What a phenomenal cruise!!! I was very concerned after reading many of the reviews on this site as well as others. I am glad to say I have no idea what ship and crew the others sailed with but it could not have been the Carnival Sensation. From embarkation to debarkation, I found every employee of Carnival I encountered to be professional, friendly and with a ready smile, and so helpful. It was my husband's first cruise and he had so many questions (so curious), everyone on board was so patient, more patient than me I am afraid. We arrived at the terminal after spending the night at the Radison Port Canaveral (use their stay and park option if you driving, they are great too), we moved quickly through security, filled out a H1N1 form, breezed through sign and sail, to wait for our boarding group, which was approximately 20 minutes. Once arriving on board around 12 pm, since cabins were not ready we headed to the Lido deck to wait till 130 for our cabin to be ready, we had some great drinks, not too pricey really, and meet a few people who had been on the Sensation before and were very helpful. At 115, we headed down to our Ocean View room on the Riviera Deck, wonderful room, good size bathroom compared to some other lines I have been on, we had champagne waiting for us. We got underway on time, and it was good. Our wait staff in the Fantasy dining room was beyond belief, Vijay and Henry you are the best, as well as Helena, the hostess, matter of fact everyone we encountered in the Fantasy DR was great, we had Our Time dining and loved it, we never had to wait, and could plan our evening as we wanted and eat anytime between 545 and 9 .. Our Anniversary was the second night, which was formal night, the dining room staff helped by husband pull off a fantastic surprise. It made it memorable night. The food was great. Not sure where the bad reviews came from, I travel 75% of the time and eat in top 5 star plus restaurants constantly. This may have not been on that level but it was much better than average and for the mass production it is great. The only food criticism I have is the breakfast buffet at the Sea view Grill and Buffet was that the scramble eggs were runny other than that none. The Mongolian Barbeque and Mexican Festive Buffet are not to be missed. We had our bed turned down every night, great towel animals, and the room was spotless thanks to our room steward, we used room service once no issues The Piano Bar is not to be missed but you need to go after midnight, the comedians were okay, and shows were fine, I preferred the 1st night show. My husband and I were the team coaches for the Battle of the Sexes, the ladies won of course, and the Newlywed Game was funny, the Cruise director and his staff were super. Leaving the ship from customs on the ship, to getting our luggage after leaving were easy...planning on doing the 4 day cruise again on the Sensation, and then planning a longer cruise on the Dream for sometime next fall, maybe for our second anniversary, we will go to the Sensation again..nothing but great, keep an open mind and a easy spirit and it will be fine.

Nice location on the Rivera deck, nice view in R69 pretty quiet except for the occasional kid running down the hallway, the only issue was I had to get a ship's blow dry because mine wouldn't plug in ..
