We have been on many RC ships but surprisingly had never been on Enchantment. Wanted to take a 4 night cruise before our daughter began kindergarten so this fit the bill.
The ship looks a little aged and rusty on the exterior, especially when parked at a port next to other ships with its faded paint and rust streaks but it is coming up for a dry dock soon so that will be addressed. The inside is in very good shape and nothing stood out to me as being worn or old although some rust is visible on various exterior areas of the decks. The layout is very nice and I never had a long wait at any of the bars for a drink.
Several mornings the windjammer was very crowded with nowhere to sit and people grabbing up huge plates of food like it was the last meal after the apocalypse but thats been the case on nearly every cruise we have been on. We tried eating breakfast in the main dining room one morning which I will do more often from now on.....much more relaxing and not as hectic.
Besides the mattresses being a little aged and flat the room was in great shape and kept clean. We had a matter of the A/C not cooling the room sufficiently but that was promptly taken care of. The room was laid out sideways compared to most other interior cabins Ive been in with the door on the long side of the room. The only real issue we had was a raised rubber/plastic thing attached to the original shower floor that reduced the depth of the shower that would flood the bathroom a little if you didn't get the shower curtain placed just right.
Easy embarkation
Get the old town trolley for $25 a person.....hop on and off all day to go exploring all around the island. The drivers narrate the notable places as you go, very nice people. If you get off to explore one area the next trolley is not far behind so you can continue on as you wish and time allows.
