First and last cruise

Review for the Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Conquest

My first cruise at the age of 44 with our 13 yr old daughter and her friend. I went with an open mind, but in the end it just wasn't for me.

Cons: rude passengers (70% of them wouldn't even acknowledge your presence unless they felt you were in their way and they would rudely speak to you); all-you-can-shove buffet mentality (some passengers didn't even bother to drop off their luggage on boarding day because they wanted to go straight to the buffet lunch and walked around with their rolly-bags); tiny swimming pools the size of a martini glass packed full of people - our teenagers could only stand in one place and the pools looked dirty too; casino odds were awful - my husband and I played 2 diff black jack tables and one dealer hit 21 18 times in a row, the other table/dealer hit it 13 times in a row; room decor and bathroom were very outdated - I believe I read that there had been a remodel a few years ago - NO possible way - room looked like it was circa 1980; bathroom shower curtain had holes and mildew stains on it and drain was always clogged.

Pros: size of ocean view room was fine for just me and my husband with plenty of closet space; fresh towels always in room; Renoir dining room waiters very nice (hostesses not so much); Guys Burgers were very good (my husband is a chef and we're pretty picky); good dinner menu options each night; wine selection and prices were very good; strong bar drinks made in all spots on the ship. DEFINITELY purchase the fun pass that allows you to the front of lines, first on/off the boat, etc. Had we not had this, I would have rated my experience as "terrible" - worth the $50 per cabin - saved us hours.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

Dated. Shower curtain had holes and was moldy. Plenty of closet space for 2 people.

Port Reviews

Half Moon Cay

First to tender and arrive at island - worth it before the majority of passengers arrived. Watched passengers smoke a cigi in the turquoise blue water and throw their butts in. Seriously?! Trashy people!
