I picked this cruise mostly because of the dates, to take 3 teenagers, hoping to find simething to keep everyone happy. It was our first cruise and we were all impressed with the food, drinks and cleanliness. Our stateroom with a balcony (1374) was spacious and there was no noise or disturbance at all despite being below the windjammer. The destination Ports however were very dissappointing and the additional cost incurred in getting from the boat was scadelous. Gijon was especially shocking. The ship docks by a huge coal heap surrounded by processing works. It's a good 20 minutes by coach into the town and it really wouldn't be safe to try to walk it as it's completely industrial with no paths. The cruise company charge €10 per person regardless of age for this journey. The shuttle buses do run frequently however. At Bilbao we chose to walk from the dock to the Metro station and get the metro into the city. The Guggenheim museum was definitely the highlight for us.
Overall I would consider another cruise, but only if I could afford one where the weather was guaranteed. It's really not worth it if the wind is whipping on the deck and your goose bumps get wind burn rather than sun burn.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Cathyann, our attendant, was friendly and excellent
Boarded the ship here so didn't see the city
How dare they call this Paris? It was the deathly dull concrete city of Le Harve.
We made our own way into the city and enjoyed the adventure. Especially enjoyed knowing that our money was going to local business rather than cruise company
