This was our fourth cruise with P&O and we had a great time.

Some ports were great and we were very welcomed by local helpers.

We were a bit disappointed when we went on Moreton Island for the Feeding the Dolphins. P&O did a great organisation but after us we saw another 2 big groups to feed only 4 to 5 dolphins. It was too crowded and I hope P&O will also look into this. We found the local organization was not mature enough to look after the animals as they are wild

Cabin Review

Cabin 10 th floor

We were not so fortunate as we experienced bedbugs after 4-5 days. Which we understand this is a hard thing to notice. They did acknowledge the issue and support us where they could with cleaning our clothes and belongings, gave us another room(s) (we were with 4) and a dinner. I really hope they were able to treat the bedbugs and nobody else got it. We know this happens nowadays as lots of different people are traveling around the world and without knowing to bring those bugs.

As it happened the last day of our trip we were unable (sick) to thank the staff of the Jewel for helping us out.

I hope the room(s) have been bug free after our stay and the next journey was a great smooth sail.

Port Reviews

Cairns

Unfortunately we did not arrive in Cairns but at Yorkey Knob. There was a busservice to go to Cairn and had to pay for it not too much. The bus was very comfortable.

Cairns has a great boulevard to walk and play for all ages. We were amazed how this was set up. There is even a very nice public pool with great area to BBQ, which we did. Cooked sausages for afternoon lunch.

The weather was not so great so we did not stay too long.

Gladstone

The tour got cancelled due to the late arrival. We were very sad as we loved to see this great beach.

Gladstone was a big boring as we are no shoppers.

Willis Island

This was not a port but a scenic tour along a small Island and it was well done to talk to the people on the island.

Port Douglas, Australia

This was a very lovely port with nice shops and restaurants. The atmosphere was really great and the people (volunteers) were really helpful.

We went on a tour to the Pontoon which was great too. It was of course very busy on the boat and the pontoon but it offered more than we expected.

Sydney (Australia)

Here we saw all the fishes we had seen on the cruise and more.

We went independently to the Aquarium and back.
