Chose this cruise for the itinerary and Royal Caribbean offered the itinerary and dates suitable. I had been on Royal Caribbean 20 years ago with a good experience and wanted to try it again. Cruising out of Venice was an amazing experience because of the views from the ship as one leaves at sunset and arrives back at sunrise. It is also a wonderful city to spend a couple of nights in before or after the cruise. The ship had all the facilities expected and our cabin with window was very comfortable. Dining in the main dining room was as good as a decent restaurant. The food was a very high standard and the service good. The buffet breakfast was very basic - it felt like catering for the masses in terms of volume versus quality. One had to wait 20 minutes for an omelette. The lunch buffet had a better selection but more geared to fast foods and the masses. There were decent snacks offered if one missed lunch. With entertainment there was something for everyone. Staff in the bars were always very efficient and the choice of cocktails and other drinks were excellent. It was well worth having a drinks package. We did our own touring at all the ports as the ship excursions are normally double what it should cost. The highlights were Dubrovnik and Kotor which are both well suited in terms of travel from the port to towns. Olympia was interesting and a nice port for shopping. Unfortunately we couldn't go to Mykonos due to weather and went to Athens instead. We travelled at as a couple and really enjoyed our trip. However, if you are a family with children or teenagers I think I would highly recommend the cruise as it appeared more geared to families.

Cabin Review

Cabin Oceanview room

Had ocenview room on 2nd deck. Extremely comfortable and cleaned twice a day.

Port Reviews

Venice

Excellent port to sail out of. Definitely worth spending a few nights before or after the cruise. Can catch a water bus from the airport to the cruise port which gives one a relaxing tour of Venice in under 2 hours.

Dubrovnik

A beautiful historic town. A highlight was walking the walls of the entire town and stopping for a drink overlooking the coast from the walls.

Kotor

Kotor was a breathtaking type Fjord which included other villages on the coast. The hop-on-hop-off bus stopped at a few villages and was really worth while. Praest was our favourite and taking a boat to the island with the church. Beautiful ocean for a swim.

Katakolon (Olympia)

The port was good for shopping and had nice cafes. If you travel to Olympia and are interested in seeing the ruins / history it is worth while.

Athens (Piraeus)

The hop-on-hop-off bus takes one to all the historical sights and shopping areas / cafes of Athens. It worked well.
