This was our first cruise. The Grandeur seemed a bit old but that didn't interfere with our experience! Cabins are really cozy and neat and the stateroom staff was so nice! They take the time to know your names and stuff. However, the stateroom bathroom had a funny smell. It didn't smell bad; it smelled like equipment. The buffet wasn't top-class stuff, but it was still really good and the kitchen staff really made the whole experience; they were warm and welcoming and sung songs and made us smile. The Great Gatsby was by far the highlight of our evenings. The food was awesome and the wait staff was impeccable. Incredibly friendly and welcoming beyond our thought.
Lots of activities for old rich people, such as jewelry and painting auctions. Not so much for children and teens. There's a movie every evening at the big-screen pool for kids and teens, which was our favorite activity for the kids. As far as daytime activities, there was a kid's playroom and a teens-only lounge on the top floor. If your kids are old enough, they could find plenty of fun in the regular activities. There are free yoga classes, complimentary pamper parties, rock climbing and evening shows at the theatre. The spa was absolutely delightful. Getting a massage costs money, but it's worth the relaxation whilst gazing at the Atlantic sea. At Bermuda, we didn't really know what to do. The tours and stuff cost a lot of money so we just walked around and bought gifts. The other tourists seemed to know where they were doing though. I think this is a matter of experience; when you're a first timer like us, you're a little bewildered and intimidated by everything. Bermuda was beautiful, by the way. One complaint is that I got a bunch of splinters while swimming on the beach, and when I came back I had to wait for the doctor. Once she was ready for me, she told me I had to pay like, 160 dollars to be treated. No way I'm paying that much money for a few scrapes. As I type this, I still have a bunch of splinters on my toes! So overall, the best part of the Grandeur is the amazing staff (except for the doctor). Everyone is smiling and happy and they are unbelievably kind and amazing!
Cabin was a cabin, what more can you say? Our stateroom guy was awesome. Mr. T. He folded little towel animals for us and he kept our cabin clean and neat and he really made the effort to get to know us. He knew our names and he greeted us and he always asked us how we were.
Ps. I DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF STATEROOM WE HAVE ITS ON THE 3RD FLOOR AND IT HAS 2 TWIN SIZE BEDS WITH 2 MORE BUNK BEDS ON TOP
