Sail Date: Aug 2017

I chose this cruise because we had sailed on the Millennium 3 previous times and we really looking forward to this cruise but were greatly disappointed. Previously the food was great, flakey pastries that were delicious and a variety of great foods were presented in the Metropolitan Restaurant, Chilled Watermelon Soup, a variety of gourmet foods and if one didn't like what was available a New York Strip steak was available.

Now the food is heavily seasoned with garlic to the point of indigestion which could be due to a Mideastern chef. The pastry looked wonderful but was tasteless. The food was similar to the Carnival Elation, leftovers galore at every meal in the Oceanview Cafe and worse they were crusted and dried from being left on the serving line too long. Other passengers mentioned that the food was not as good as previous sailings as well. The food in one's hometown cafeteria is better in that one has a greater choice and it tastes better.

After seven days on the ship we only ate four times in the MDR due to the lack of variety and lack of "special" food on the menu that we either couldn't prepare at home or eat at a local restaurant. A certain Italian restaurant could make a killing on the ship because their menu is far better than the Millennium.
