We are mainly RCCL cruisers and are just below diamond status. Needing a quick getaway and not finding what we wanted { by date } with our usual line we decided to try Carnival. Booked everything on line { another first} We drove to the cruise port and stayed at the Country Inn and Suites quite close to the cruise terminal. We were shuttled to the terminal and left our car at the hotel. { we were given a ticket for the return shuttle and advised to call when we had cleared customs}. We found embarkation to be smoothly run arriving around 11:30am and were aboard by 12:30. We found our way to the red sail restaurant, found a seat and had a coffee and light snack. We did find the glory a difficult ship to negotiate because one needs to go up or down one floor to access certain areas of the ship. I did miss not being able to walk from one end to another unimpeded but that is not a complaint. We had been wait listed for first seating because we find second seating too late for our routine. We were lucky enough to be changed and we were sad to leave our two dinner companions who also had requested first seating, they ended up staying on second seating and they were alone at a table for 8. We joined our new dinner companions on the second night they too were seated at a table for 8 and for the whole of the week just the four of us turned up for dinner. Our wait staff were top class. Food. Good choices { I will not compare anything to RCCL} because it is subjective and unfair, suffice to say we were happy with the offerings and enjoyed all our meals. we do not eat lunch and so visited the red sales restaurant only on boarding. we ate breakfast each morning in the MDR and were very satisfied. Cabin We always travel in inside cabins and found ours to be slightly more spacious than we are used to. Our cabin steward IGEDE was the best ever and I certainly appreciated his towel animals and his thoughtfulness. A very pleasant hard working young man. Entertainment. Enjoyed the shows, trivia, comedy shows. The sing a long piano bar with Russel was one of our favourite stops, Karaoke, { as spectators} oldies with Robbin, Latin Music, all in all lots to choose from. The entertainment staff were the best we have ever encountered. We did not take this cruise for its ports we did go ashore in St Thomas and St Martin but decided to stay aboard in Nassau. The Glory is certainly a beautiful ship, staffed with friendly and helpful staff. Embarkation and disembarkation was well managed. We opted for self assisted disembarking and there were no line ups we were off the ship by 8am and shuttled to our car within that hour. Excellent fun cruise. Oh forgot to say we are seniors.
