My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary along with another couple celebrating their honeymoon. We have wanted to do a Mediterranean cruise for some time. We selected NCL because the itinerary closely matched where we wanted to go. They gave us a great deal with free onboard dining at specialty restaurants and free taxes and port charges plus a free all inclusive beverage package. The ship was big and well layed out. You may want to reserve a balcony on the 10th and higher floors because the lifeboats jut out and I was on deck 8 and it blocked most of my views of the ocean. The staff were adequate but not legendary. The bar tenders at the pool were some of the most rude employees on a cruise I have ever encountered. They acted like it was an imposition to serve us. The dining and cabin staff were nice but no one person stood out to make this cruise special for us. I am not sure I enjoyed the concept of Freestyle cruising because they seem to nickel and dime you for everything. You had to pay for bottled water, you had to pay for some shows. There was a host of things that had an extra charge attached to it that it almost made it aggravating. I think in future I will spend a little more money and go with a cruise line that offered a little more personal service touches.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

The carpet was worn and the drawers were broken. Our footstool came off when we touched it. The shower and toilet are out in the cabin with only a curtain for privacy. The room was smaller than other balconies I have been on with Princess.

You can walk right off the ship into the center of town. It is a great "on your own" place.
