We chose this cruise because we had not been on a cruise in a long time and are not into the hug ships with thousands of people, we love the intimacy of the river ships. The itinerary was important, the ability to see so many wonderful things that we might never have experienced. There were 10 of us in our group and we all had such a wonderful time, making new friends and having a life of wonderful memories. Our cruise director Nick made the trip fun and he made the shore excursions exciting and interesting. For me the best day was Heidelberg , Nick helped me find the perfect spot the spread m mothers ashes. My parent met during WWII in Heidelberg, the were both in the Army, met & married there and my brother was born there, so mom came full circle. His wit and humor made our days. We had great wait staff especially at dinner. We were lucky to have the same table set up for the 10 of us each night with the same servers, Will & JJ, they made sure our dinners were special and never boring. Overall, wonderful trip and can't wait to do another Viking cruise.
It was wonderful to be able to look out the sliding glass door and see the beautiful Rhine river and how peaceful it was. We could be in our cabin and still experience the castles along the Rhine.
Beautiful city, love the cathedral the most. had lunch and German beer
on our own once we docked
Heidelberg was special for me. My parents met there when in the Army and i visited with my mom many years ago. Our cruise director help pick the perfect spot to spread my moms ashes, she came full circle. Loved sharing Heidelberg stories from my mom with my husband and friends.
