We chose this cruise because of the ports of call and they didn't disappoint, apart from unable to visit Mykonos, due to winds. We docked at Athens instead which was fine for us as we hadn't been before, but due to traffic and distance from port, we opted for an excursion. Unfortunately, the guide totally ruined it for us. Boring and tedious, we were treated to the history of Greece from the year dot with rambling asides before returning to his point. By the end we couldn't be bothered to listen. Dubrovnik and Kotor were beautiful, although expensive. We had a wonderful sailing out of Venice, viewing all the amazing buildings which was really special.
The ship itself is fairly small and in need of further refurbishment. It has plenty of lounges eg the Shall we Dance Lounge in which to have entertainment, but instead focuses most of the bands and music in the Centrum, where there is limited seating and everyone is stood up, over 4 floors craning over the rails to try to watch a performance or moving chairs to the edge for the night meaning no-one can see. Meanwhile the lounges with dance floors and lots of chairs are nearly always unused. Not good use of the facilities.
The food is fine in the Dining Room but another story in the Windjammer buffet. Areas are roped off at the beginning of service and then removed totally at least an hour before the end. That left up to 50 people in a queue for the paltry dishes that were left. Desserts had disappeared, only some cookies left. Burgers and buns, no tomato and no fries. Although service is until 3.30pm there is no point going after 2pm if you want some choice and no queue.
