The Island Princess is a great ship. We have been on many newer ships and this one although not brand new does not disappoint. The food, cabins, public areas, entertainment, and itinerary to Alaska are exceptional. We had a larger than usual balcony. Also, on most Princess ships the closet area is bigger than those on other ships. The production numbers in the theater were better than the usual fare seen on cruises. The tours we took in Alaska exceeded our expectations. Another nice touch is that Princess had a naturalist on board to tell us about Alaska and the sea life that may be visible outside the ship. We had no problems with either the cruise or the before and after land tours taken through Princess. The Island Princess offers a fantastic voyage. Highly recommend the ship, Princess and the itinerary. We are booked on two more Princess cruises.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

Our cabin was clean and fine. The closet space was ample and better than other cruise lines. Our cabin steward kept the cabin clean. The balcony was bigger than most and this made it easier to view the glaciers when we did the scenic cruise days. Only downside was that the shower was very small.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

We saw the glaciers and saw it calving along with a thunderous boom. Wished we had more time to view the glaciers. Very fair how they turn the ship around so everyone can get a view of the glaciers.

Vancouver

We disembarked here but continued on a land tour with Princess. Vancouver is very nice and offers lots to do. We went to Stanley Park and did the hop on, hop off bus.
