My Mother and I were recently on RCCL's Jewel of the Seas to New England (Maine) and Eastern Canada. This was our 8th cruise - 6 on RCCL, 1 on Princess, and 1 on Carnival.
Prior to sailing on October 3, we spent 3 nights in Boston - and went to Martha's Vineyard for a day. It's way overrated.....and the tour around the island wasn't worth the time or the money we paid, but the Victorian cottages in Oak Bluffs were wonderful to see!! Boston was awesome, and we did the Old Town Trolley tour all day on October 2.
We have sailed out of several embarkation ports (Seattle, Port Canaveral, and Miami) in the past, but we have NEVER sailed out of such a depressing terminal (if one can even call it that) than the cargo warehouse that Boston offers their ships that come in and out. Of course it's only used as a cruise ship terminal 3 months out of the year, but even so......it was still pathetic. It was pouring rain, and there was no overhang on the drop off side OR on the cruise ship side of this warehouse. It took 90 minutes from the time we got into the warehouse until we actually stepped onto the ship.
Cabin was fine. Great balcony view, quiet hallway, plenty of space.
