This was my first cruise in 35 years. I was looking for a smaller ship and wanted to see if I like cruising, which I did. The ship and the service were great. I thought the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was right (sometimes almost too much). The excursions were great also but you have to realize that the ports are working ports so your view from the balcony may not be so great while in port, but really, who cares. The view while traveling is marvelous. I took this cruise to relax so I did not participate in the entertainment or enrichment activities but other passengers said they were fine, but not great. Probably a factor of being on a smaller ship. I did use the spa services (which are exceptional) and the gym area which is adequate. I especially liked the 'adults only' area which is a private outdoor lounge and hot tub off of the spa. While there are not many kids on the cruise, it was nice to have a private and quiet area to relax.

The furnishings are getting pretty old and worn. I was surprised since the ship did a refresh not too long ago. My key problem was the smell of mildew in the bathroom. I had to keep the door shut to the bathroom most of the time but when I opened it the smell was overpowering.
