My husband and I had always talked about doing a river cruise. The time was right and the hardest decision we had was to decide whether to do a Rhine or Danube River cruise. After days of talking to friends and reading countless reviews, we just randomly chose the Danube. It was an excellent decision. Everything was perfect from embarkation to disembarkation. It truly was a trip of a lifetime. Viking was top-notch from beginning to end. Food and accommodations were excellent. Tours were very informative. The staff even made our 39th wedding anniversary extra special! Each city that we visited was spectacular and the guides provided the ultimate experience. We purchased one optional excursion in Vienna to Schonbrun Palace. A very beautiful experience. The afternoon cruising the river was informative and relaxing. Our favorite part of the cruise was entering into Budapest at night and seeing all of the buildings lit in their splendor and to see the Parliament Building shining in the distance...WOW!!!! Words cannot begin to describe the awesomeness!
