Superior ship with suites and outstanding staff.

Each staff member was friendly, capable, and very helpful.

The excellent food and beverages enriched the experience as did the scenery and port visits but the thing that makes Viking my river cruise of choice is the roomy, airy, modern, and light cabins and public areas. The ship accomodation and roominess was especially key in a cold weather time such as we sailed. The Chief Bar Tender was extraordinary both in his mixology skills and in his welcoming and helpful attitude. The staff recommendations of things to do and see in port were unerringly perfect and clearly based upon extensive knowledge of the port and perceptive measure of the guests! Based on this experience we have already sailed again on Viking (Douro River) and simply throw out all the other river cruise letters and circulars that we get! Viking is the TOP river cruise experience without exception.
