Traveled with children

I was traveling with my husband, 17 YO daughter and 19 YO son. My daughter participated every day in the teen activities. My son made friends and was on the flow rider most days. He went to all of the late late activities.

The ship is 1.5 years old and is beautiful. There are personnel always cleaning and maintaining the ship. We had 2 inside cabins and had plenty of closet space for our clothes. There is a large flat screen TV on the wall facing the bed. That was a nice improvement over Oasis of the Seas.

I went to most of the entertainment. Grease is the best musical I have seen at sea. My husband and I LOVED the show. There are 2 ice shows-you only have to reserve 1 show. The other show is first come, first served, and we thought it was the better show.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Junkanoo Beach; Senor Frogs; Straw Market. We walked off the boat and out of the port, turned right and walked along a side walk to Junkanoo Beach. There are bathrooms and a bar. There were 3 ships in the port, so there were lots of people at the beach. I didn't find any shade. A couple of years ago, we found shade on the right side, but now they are constructing a building and you can't go to that part of the beach anymore. My kids got Wi-Fi at the beach, so they were happy! The sand was a bit rocky (with shells), so I wore my water shoes. The rocks don't bother the rest of my family. Then, we walked to Senor Frogs which is on the way back to the boat. It was very lively and we enjoyed watching people play musical chairs. My teens were entertained. Afterward, we shopped in the straw market and then headed back to the ship.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Carambola Beach Club: We were the only ship in port. We took a taxi to Carambola Beach Club for $4 per person each way. Two chairs and an umbrella cost $30. The sand was soft, so I didn't need my water shoes here. We walked down the beach to Shipwreck Bar and saw the black sand. It is also very soft. My daughter took some cute pictures of the black sand. In the port and at this beach club, there are people with these little monkeys. You can have your picture taken with the monkey. It was a big hit with the younger kids. My teens weren't interested. This was my favorite stop!

St. Thomas

Magens Bay beach: We took a taxi to Magens Bay beach. It costs $10 per person each way from Crown Bay port and takes about 20 minutes. They charge $5 per person to enter Magens Bay. There were 2 ships in port. It is supposed to be one of the top beaches in the world, but there were so many people, I cann't rank it that high. The upside is that you have no trouble at all about getting a taxi back to the port. There are some trees where you can find shade. The water is clear and there are some rocks that my kids walked to. I saw other kids climbing them. The sand is soft and I didn't have to use my water shoes.
