I was extremely familiar with NCL as I had over 10 cruises with them. Embarkation went smooth at the Miami terminal and was on the ship with 30 minutes of arrival at the port. I was in the Haven area and as a solo cruiser I paid a premium in order to be there. I will break the review into two parts- the room and the service. The room and the Haven suite I had was very relaxing, comfortable, and well maintained. They were even able to get a lounger onto the balcony. The services in the Haven area were what you expect for being in the exclusive area of the ship. The food was to standard, the rooms were to standard, and the small pool area was nice to relax in. The services outside of the Haven area (to include the specialty dining options) were not to the NCL standard. I had issues with the Spa Acupuncturist personally insulting me for arriving prior to my appointment time; when I stated I arrived early because that is what I am taught being military she replied that they were not military and I should have known to arrive at the time listed. My meal at La Cucina was to be an appetizer, salad, entree with a side dish, and then desert. My appetizer arrived as scheduled, then my entree arrived without the side dish, halfway through the entree the waiter asks if I got my salad. Never did get the side dish. The quality of service I received was not what I expected of NCL based on my previous experiences with NCL. And after these and other issues the staff and crew were attempting to "make it right" but I rather it had been right the first time.
Overall the trip was not am enjoyable experience; I feel I might have outgrown the level of service that NCL provides.
