Decided to try river cruising after many ocean trips. Interesting itinerary on the Main and Rhine rivers, with quaint medieval towns and lots of castles. Excellent guides on the walking tours. Unable to use sun deck for first few days because of low bridges on the Main, so outside space very limited. Pool area small but pleasant to sit in, gym extremely small! Evening entertainment was very limited - pianist or occasional film.

Cabin and public areas were well maintained. Coffee machine in the lounge was well used produced better coffee than the dining room.

Food was mostly a triumph of style over substance - nicely presented but disappointing food, bland and lacking in both quality and quantity. Included wines were of much better standard than the food. For a holiday costing as much as a high end ocean cruise, this is unacceptable.

Cabin Review

Cabin River view

Kept spotless by cabin steward. Comfortable beds, enough storage, fridge and safe. Shower had a door, not curtain. Bathrobe and slippers supplied, but not basics such as tissues or a shower cap.
