Sail Date: Aug 2017

After much debating being a first time cruiser I chose to sail on the MV Magellan. I had wanted to do the Norwegian Fjords for some time and had realised the only way to do them would be via a cruise.

I chose Cruise and Maritime primarily because the ships were smaller and went from a local port of call i.e Hull or Newcastle. Both within a couple of hours drive of my home town. I was able to book on a buy one get one free deal. Allowing me to take my younger sister along for the adventure!

Being 25 and 17yrs old I knew we would be very young in comparison to our fellow cruises. I did have a few funny looks as I am sure many wondered how I afforded the cruise in the first place. I had saved for two years and I work full time. Something which is probably rare among my age range. We were some of the youngest on the cruise although there were a couple of families with children over 16. I did find the cruise pleasant and relaxing due to the no children rule on this ship and I think it work superbly well. All of the passengers were lovely and we ate in all of the restaurants on the ship and met a wide array of people all who were polite and kind.

Cabin Review

Extremely clean and spacious. Cabin steward Tony was lovely and very helpful.
