We selected a short cruise on the QM2 since we were considering a transatlantic cruise. To sum it up in 2 words: very disappointing. The first clue was at the ship terminal. We were given a specific time to be at the cruise terminal and were told that if we were delayed to please notify the cruise line since we had preferred boarding status...so did 1k other guests. It was a cattle call ! ! ! I've boarded lesser expensive cruises and received much better service.

We had a penthouse suite which was nice but not great. Cunard drastically oversold their service and amenities on this one! Appx 50% of what we ordered and expected Cunard actually delivered. The in-room refrigerator never worked and it was replaced twice. The bar selections we made, prior to the cruise, were never fulfilled. In fact, our Cabin Butler told us we were misled...his words not ours. The food was mediocre at best and the service was nothing notable. The best meal we had was off the ship..not on it.

The entertainment was lack luster and phony. The only bright star on the ship was Benjamin Bratt. His performance was delightful and delivered the entertainment qualty one would expect. The so-called planetarium only had 1 show during our 6 day cruise and, of course, it sold out immediately. You had to stand in line the morning of the event to see if you could get a ticket.

Nice size but nothing special. The master bath could use some maintenance and our In-room refrigerator was replaced twice but never worked. Also, if you enjoy a cool room adjust your expectations. Our thermostat stayed on the lowest possible setting and I don't believe the room ever got below 75 degrees. It was more comfortable to sit on the balcony.

Port Reviews

Halifax

Very nice; shops were unique and the proprietors were engaging. I felt as though they appreciated my business and happy that I selected their city to visit.
