Sail Date: August 2017
Destination: Mexican Riviera
Embarkation: Los Angeles
Chose this cruise because we had a discount through AmEx and it was fairly close to where we live. Was able to make it from north county san diego to port in less than one hour. Parked at terminal it was about 20 dollars a day. Paid a porter 5 bucks to take our bags while we parked. Garage has very low ceilings watch out. Paid for the faster to fun and go on ship right away with no delays. Once on you go right to buffet. You have to wait almost 6 hours for bags to be delivered to your room so pack all meds and bathing suited in carry ons. We were very impressed with food. The buffet food was above average for buffet food. Could get a bit crowded but never ran out of food. The formal dining room was hit and miss, more hits than miss. The waiters were outstanding. When we couldn't decide what to order they would suggest ordering both. Waiters were very friendly and remembered all our names and preferences. The entire crew was 5 star. They worked their but off to accommodate your More every need. They do try to nickel and dime you at every corner, (pictures, jewelry, buckets of beer, drinks, bingo cards). Pools are a bit small for a full ship but always managed to find someplace to sit. The decor of the ship was OK. The main atrium was the nicest part of the ship. The stage shows were a bit below average. The sound cut out in the middle of one show. The comedians were amazingly funny, full on belly laughs. Magician is also a must see. One issue however was the commedians and magician played in the smaller mad hatter theater which didn't even come close to accomodating everyone. People would stand in the isles. Plan to get there 20 minutes early to find a seat. We went on two excurtions, sail, snorkel fiesta and Yelapa snorkel and hike both were amazing. Overall we really enjoyed the cruise. Not the newest and fanciest ship but felt the profecionalism of the crew more than made up for it. Less

Cabin review: 8A5289 Balcony

For a cabin not bad. We had four people so no matter it would get cramped. Lots of closet space. Closets had option of shelves that would fold out or racks for hanging. Lots of room under bed for suitcases. Only two 120 v outlets. We used a power strip and it was sufficient. Lots of shelves in bathroom above sink. No issues with sink, toilet, or shower.
