We had our first HAL cruise on the Koningsdam starting on July 9, 2017. We chose the cruise because of the itinerary. We had spent a few days in Amsterdam enjoying the city before the cruise. The public transportation was easy to use with our passes purchased at the airport upon arrival. We stayed on a canal boat about two blocks from a tram stop.
On Sunday embarkation was smooth and our inside cabin was ready when we got on the ship. We were very happy with the cabin 7129. It was quiet and cozy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nicer than I’ve experienced on other cruises, the shower was wonderful! I also loved the promenade deck and logged many miles on it.
The ship was nice and the service workers were very friendly and pleasant. I did have an issue with one young woman at the guest services guest. I felt like she was patronizing me, however this could have been a cultural misunderstanding.
