I chose this cruise because my wife and I had never been on Carnival but had been on several other cruise lines and we wanted to try the Carnival Dream. I look at the ratings up above and have to laugh. This was by far the worst experience on a vacation we had ever been on and it will be the last with Carnival. First off let me say that the highlight of our trip was knowing our room would be clean while we weren't there and trust me this is where we spent the majority of our time. The ship from the start was so unorganized. When we were doing the mustard drill we were packed in a small room like sardines for 45 min while we waited for other people who decided they were too good to come down even though it was mandatory. Second I've never been on a cruise ship that didn't have someone constantly sanitizing your hands as you went to eat. This ship was so unsanitary I'm surprised there was wasn't several illnesses. My wife and like to enjoy ice cream at night only to find out that the mix was empty or their were no spoons or cones. I don't know about you but we don't like eating ice cream with our hands and since it's open 24/7 you'd think someone would be assigned to do just that. We tried to eat the buffet but ended up eating pizza or burgers every day lunch and dinner due to food not tasting good. The lines to the burgers and pizza were ridiculous so I guess they had the same experience we had. When the line to the pizza place is around the corner you'd think they would try to make more but they were always out. The one that beats all is we didn't get to go to Cozumel due to what the captain said was technical difficulties which caused the ship to go slower than normal stating the engineers were working all night to try and fix the problem only to find out that the reason we didn't stop was because of flooding in Cozumel from storms. All the captain had to do was be truthful about the situation and we would have just said that's Mother Nature. Mysteriously the next day the ship started to go at full speed. Most people we talked to were very upset that we were only given a credit of $50 per person like that is gonna fix the situation. We paid for three stops. We spent 4 days at sea twiddling our thumbs. The pools were so small you couldn't get in them because there were several people in them and overcrowded. I will say that the two stops we did make were very nice and enjoyable but the ship experience was terrible. You couldn't pay me to go on Carnival again and when asked by others I will be truthful and tell them to take another cruise line.
