This was a short four-day cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico. Boarding in Long Beach was easy as usual, love the way that platinum and diamond guests have a special building to check-in.

Inside state room U85 was ready when we arrived. This inside state was spacious, the bath room had a new floor and one shelf. We chose 2 single beds to have a little more space to move around in the room. We dropped our bags and went to explore the ship. Not our first time on Carnival Fantasy Class ship but our first time on the Imagination. The ship layout was a little confusing at times, Center elevators did to go to deck 11, Lido, aft elevator went to deck 10. yet not to 11. When we returned to our room Joanna was there to met us. What a good conversation and first impression. She gave us the option of taking care of the room morning, night or both. We are a little old school and took both and requested a robe and ice bucket. Joanna was always around in the hall during the mornings, always a smile, always good conversation and very attentive to our needs. Carnival couldn’t find any better room Steward. Wish she could just travel along with us on the next 4 cruises we have booked.

Sail away went smooth and on time. Once before while leaving Long Beach on Carnival Miracle we were escorted by a pod of dolphins. No way would we go to dining hall with hopes of being able to see that again. We caught evening meal on Lido and I was very impressed. The layout was designed to minimize the lines while providing many options.
