This was our second cruise on the Oasis and third on that class of ship. We actually prefer a smaller ship. However, we live only seven miles from the port and when a great deal comes up we just jump and go. We are a retired couple. The boarding process was very quick. Being Diamonds it only took us about 15 minutes from clearing security to walking up the gangway (arrived at 11:20). Cabins were scheduled to be ready at 1:00 PM and they announced ready at 12:50. We waited in the Windjammer buffet restaurant. A bit crowded as usual on opening day but not unmanageable. There are so many venues open that people are spread out across the ship.

I always go to the gym and sign up for the classes while my wife has lunch. Every morning there is stretch and Fab Abs. On sea days there is yoga ($12) and Ryder ($20) classes in the morning and polities ($12) in the early evening. No package deals for multiple class sign up. Sign up early or you may miss classes you want.

Our cabin (10297) was a balcony over the Boardwalk. This is the location we enjoy. Noise is never a problem for us. It was spacious enough for the two of us and everything worked. The shower has the best pressure and shower head I have found in cabins. And we cruise an average of150+ days a year. The water was hot and the bathroom night light is an excellent improvement. The temperature controlled worked very well. The room steward was excellent and attentive.
