We chose Harmony of the Seas because we saw videos and reports of how wonderful the ship was. Gigantic, full of activities, beautiful and the great restaurants and shows. I will be honest, the ship has great shows, great variety of eating venues and despite the number of passengers, you still have elbow room. The Labadee Sandbar Island Tour was the highlight party boat! The crew was awesome and the beach was spectacular! A definite MUST-DO if you like jovial music and a great beach escape. The bad - horrible service recovery. One of us had an accident on the cabin due to a faulty chair design. We rushed to the Medical Facility and this is where our nightmare began. Head nurse had the worst bedside manner of anyone I had seen - I guess she is taught to fear mentioning liability to avoid a lawsuit - well she takes that to the limit and has no idea how to balance a real problem where the guest should be cared for versus admitting guilt so the guest doesn't sue. They were horrible, Even after a safety officer review the incident - they never apologized once again, I truly feel they didn't want to admit guilt so as to not give fuel to the fire. GUESS WHAT? The fire is there - we have pictures and a video and we will gladly show them to ROYAL's head corporate staff. Yet, they didn't even care. No one followed up - well, except for the head housekeeping staff member who was nice to apologize we had 2 days of our very expensive trip - ruined through no fault of our own. Usually when a guest has had a poor experience, staff members follow-up and make sure everything is well and usually you feel special - other than the bottle of wine by the head housekeeping staff - we were out in LIMBO with a huge bump in our head and a horrible pain in the neck - which we still need examined via X-rays. NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT for a Junior Suite Class customer!!!! So I guess to wrap it up, if something doesn't happen - the ship is fine. However, don't expect much if you run into any issue. The follow-up has been way below par - especially compared to other cruise lines who truly pamper their guests.

Great ship, lots to do, wonderful ambience but poor service recovery!

Cabin Review

Cabin 11232
The cabin was spacious, luxurious and very accommodating.
The towels for a junior suite were of poor quality - rough, thin, over-washed.

  • Labadee
Best excursion ever! The boat was immaculate. The crew super friendly, helpful and considerate of each guest's needs. They took us to a sandbar that due to the weather was a bit high - so they had a PLAN B - Amiga Island - a beautiful island and beach - the beach was as clear as bath water. Smooth, relaxing, pleasurable. The crew came around with drink orders and helped you with floats, picture-taking and all. On the way back, dancing on the boat with lively music and spectacular views. A truly fun and memorable experience.

Very rocky ride. Not sure if it was the day or always - but it was not pleasurable. On our way up, the head guy spoke over the microphone joking about sea sickness. This give me the idea that it happened frequently. In a boat of 150 people at least 40 of us got sea sick. Super rocky. Even the water was rocking to get you sick. Nausea isn't fun. It was not a fun relaxing event. Unless you have great equilibrium - you would get sick. Most of us wanted to go. Hard to get off the boat (rocky, rocky,, rocky)
