Second cruise with P&O, have always wanted to visit Scandinavia. Norway did not disappoint, it is a very beautiful country and the fjords are simply stunning.
Our excursions, although incredibly expensive for a family (over £600) we learnt so much and got to see parts of the towns that we wouldn't have found ourselves. The guides were knowledgeable and interesting and the groups were fairly small. Some of the excursion descriptions were a little misleading and included more walking than advertised. If you have any difficulty with walking I would check carefully first before booking.
Britannia is a huge ship and I found the layout confusing....I'm not sure why there were so few lifts or stairs in certain areas. A family we were in a lift with said that they had become stuck in a lift and needed to be rescued by maintenance. The decor felt a little old in some areas and the atrium with its carpeted floor was a bit underwhelming and not the showpiece of the ship. The carpet on the stairs made it difficult to see the edge of the steps. The art around the ship was interesting and we never had to hunt for a seat or sunlounger on deck. We were really lucky with weather and had a couple of very sunny days.
Cabin with balcony was a must for this cruise as the scenery was so amazing. I particularly liked being able to sit and watch the sunrises and approaches to port, the balcony was private enough for me to sit out at night with the light on without disturbing people in the cabin next door. The balcony was big enough for 2 people to sit with a small table we used as a foot stool to sit more comfortably. It was a little scruffy on the balcony but nothing could detract from the landscapes.
