While loving the cruise and the Canal experience, NCL Pearl left something to be desired to my and my husband. We are not hard to please people but I do expect some basics. First off, our cabin was not clean. It had empty wine bottle still in closet when we arrived and the bathroom smelled like urine. After finding the wine bottle, I was not too sure it was even cleaned after the previous cruisers left. It was quite dusty. Hotel services came and cleaned it again. Worked three days on the smell in the bathroom. We used spray deodorant to mask the smell finally. My biggest complaint was with the Bliss lounge and scheduling. We did not use the Bliss lounge after the first evening of Karaoke because of the private group that had the Bliss lounge assigned as it's meeting place. Evidently, they took it as their lounge. It was also used for a lot of crew members to meet and greet. It felt as if the ship's crew was in heat. Between the crew members and the private group, too much loving for a public place for our group. My question is my does NCL schedule a public event and assign that public lounge to a private group? Third complaint-- scheduling in general. Never hardly made the 8 o clock show. With dinner as slow it was never possible to get to it. Too many things scheduled at the same or too close of time. Example: Chocoholic Buffet and Comedy show at 10. We stood in line for 45 minutes to get in to buffet. We were the last four people let in right at 11. I watched the crew taking whole desserts and stack them on top of other desserts and toss them When people from comedy show got there at 11:15, it was closed. Why closed if you still have an event going on and food left? This is one example of the poorly planned out scheduling. Public eating area in buffet area was too small to accomadate people, Had to walk around with food and by the time found place, food was cold. Food adequate. Did Mambo's. Was quite disapointed in that specialty restaurant. Not being a total prude, I found some of the passenger participation games very childish. Having grown couples breaking balloons in positions of making love was far beneath what was called for. Again-- I felt the crew was in heat. Crew show was good except the for the guy who came out of the closet. Not good judgment. Leaving the cruise ship was a disaster. We stood in glass hall in Miami for 1 hour and did not progress at all. We had to pay limo driver extra cause he was wanting to leave for other pick ups. Missed our tour of Miami due to delay. I don't plan on cruising NCL again Only reason I did because of price to cross through canal.
