We chose this cruise for the ease of getting to Seattle from our home city. It did not disappoint. We cruised a similar itinerary in the past and love that this itinerary stops in Sitka - a very unique, less "touristy" city with some very cool things to do! There is only ever one ship at a time in Sitka so it is a much quieter, low key experience than some places. What really made this cruise for us was the service - we had tremendous cabin stewards and dining room servers that truly elevated the experience. We traveled with 3 friends who had never seen Alaska and they felt that they got a great taste of that part of the state.

We'd heartily recommend a cruise tour (land and sea), but for us that wasn't practical this time. In light of that, we highly recommend Holland America in general and this itinerary specifically.

Beware cabin 8032 is directly under the ping pong table on the Lido deck! No problem at night as long as you go to bed after 10 or so, but the noise from people chasing the ball was significant during all day.
