This was our first cruise; we chose to go "Viking top of the line" because the hubby said, "Well, if we never go again, we've gone in style" ! Within two days of being on board, he was already talking of when we would go again and where. The ship is gorgeoous; our veranda suite was the perfect mix of personal space and outdoor space- we spend a lot of time on the veranda just watching boats and scenery and enjoying the quiet. The food was extraordinary and very French.... every meal was delicious. Cultural lectures were wonderful, and very informative, even for a French teacher who already knew a lot about the country and the places we visited. Shore excursions were fun, guides very well informed and interesting - we will definitely travel with Viking again, and can't wait to explore other regions on their river cruises. Do it - you won't regret a thing!
