Comparing everything to our previous cruise on the same class of ship, Grandeur of the Seas, it was nearly worse in every way. The ship is in desperate need of an update and overhaul. Our room looked like it had seen many years of abuse and, while cleaned adequately, there were several stains, marks, and dents all around it. The shower was extremely hot even when as cold as they could go and had to be fixed. A room key didn't work and had to be replaced, but still only worked in the door and nowhere else. Elevators seemed insufficient for the crowds and seating was often a challenge everywhere we went. It felt like there were more people onboard than it was equipped to handle. The main theater had decent sort of open bench seats in the middle, but along the sides seating was very narrow and so wobbly that it legitimately felt like they were going to snap off. You could see passengers in other rows shaking several seats at a time just moving one with their hand. Also, for whatever reason, it looked like they had painted around all of the windows and framing around the ship but got tons of the paint or sealant on the glass that, when added to the already dirty look, made it seem like we were sailing on a trash barge or something every time you looked out a window.

While most of the staff were just as good or better than in my previous experience, the ship itself really felt like it was poorly designed and too outdated for continued use. When you take into consideration that we actually ended up paying *more* for a *shorter* cruise, it makes it doubly disappointing. Also, when did they stop giving complimentary room service and souvenir cups with the drink of the day? That certainly didn't make the experience any better or the value seem any more reasonable.

The only saving grace of the entire trip was Coco Cay. It's a great place and they seem to be doing some work on it to make it even better. Nassau just seems like a mess and it was the last time we were there as well, but we did take a nice boat tour there. With a few more activities added to the island, I think the trip would be more enjoyable spending two days in Coco Cay than messing with Nassau.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

The cabin was smaller than an interior stateroom that we had on the same class of ship previously with fewer amenities. As I mentioned in my review, there were stains, marks, and dents all over the room, fixtures, and artwork that made the room feel dirty even after it was clean. Carpet around the bathroom entrance looked stained by water and that seemed to be because water settled in the corner away from the drain. The first day two days the water was unbearably hot even on the coldest setting and had to be fixed. The TV was a standard definition probably 13 inch TV mounted on the wall near the ceiling, so watching it was barely worth the effort. Not to mention the washed out colors.
